An Invitation to Rest, Celebrate and Worship

It has been a crazy, emotional, incredible, and challenging summer for Diane, Sarah and I. Lots of things are changing: job duties are expanding,  living circumstances are changing and families are growing. Meet Ela, the hands-down best addition and celebration of our summer!

Diane added a new member of the Unlocking Femininity family on July 26. Ela was born via a surprise c-section, after 12 hours of labor in a completely Spanish environment; it was very interesting day for Diane, to say the least. IMG_0156

She has been quite occupied with recovering from surgery, staring at Ela’s beautiful lil face and getting in lots of cuddle time amidst the poopy diapers.  🙂 She and Alex are absolutely loving the adventures and lessons of parenthood, especially maintaining patience during Ela’s sleepless, cranky nights.  We all can’t wait to see how the Lord uses motherhood and Ela’s life for His glory!

DSCN1663God is at work in so many ways and in response we at Unlocking Femininity are taking a break from posting for the month of August to enjoy all that God has done.

I love the testimony the Psalmist’s weave in Psalm, of God who is a source of strength and a place of rest for his people, no matter what they are going through.  The world is an intense and exhausting place, so God calls his people to be still, know him, see the works he has done, and worship. And in that worship, we will find rest and be restored!

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us;  the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

The Lord Almighty is with us;  the God of Jacob is our fortress.”

Psalm 46:10

We invite you to join us in taking time to be still and know that He is God,

~ Gabrielle, Diane and Sarah
